Venus Williams Sued For Man’s Death After Car Crash

Venus Williams

Tennis superstar Venus Williams is being sued by the family of a man who died after an automobile accident earlier this month.

We reported yesterday that Williams, 37, was blamed for the accident that killed 78-year-old Jerome Barson.

Speaking on “Good Morning America” Friday Michael Steinger, attorney for Linda Barson, wife of the deceased, said the family will file suit against the tennis star and are trying to gather more information about the fatal crash, ESPN writes.

“At this point we are attempting to both preserve the evidence and gain access to evidence,” Steinger said.

“There were video cameras placed at guard houses where Ms. Williams lives, police have refused after multiple requests to turn those over to us, and we would like to see visual portrayal of the accident on those videos. They have impounded all the vehicles and have impeded our ability to do our investigation and move forward. Not sure what their reasoning is. They have refused to turn them over to us at this point.”

According to the police report filed by police in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, Williams’ 2010 Toyota Sequoia SUV darted into an intersection in Palm Beach Gardens, near her residence on June 9, ramming into Linda Barson’s car.

The elderly couple both sustained injuries from the crash but Jerome died 14 days later after being confined in an ICU.

Williams was reportedly traveling at around 5 mph when she entered the intersection, and police say there was no evidence that alcohol, drugs or texting while driving were factors in the crash.

Meanwhile, ABC legal expert Areva Martin said it would be rare for Williams to face criminal charges under the circumstances.

“To be charged criminally in an automobile accident, there has to be a finding of reckless or wanton conduct,” Martin said. “None of that appears to be the case, so it’s unlikely she’d be held criminally responsible for the death of the man.”

Venus Williams, who offered her sympathy for the “unfortunate accident” is seeded 10th at Wimbledon which commences Monday.

Hakeem Belo-Osagie

The chairman of Etisalat Nigeria, Hakeem Belo-Osagie, has resigned his appointment after the restructuring of the telecommunication company.

The resignation is effective immediately.

According to TheCable, Belo-Osagie had planned to leave immediately the banks made the take-over move, but he opted to tarry until a road map for the company was finalised.

A statement from the communications company read;

“The timing of the resignation was strategically delayed till now when stakeholders have agreed a plan and comes more than a week after Mubadala Development Company directors tendered their resignation.

“The development also reflects Belo-Osagie’s deep commitment to protecting the interest of all stakeholders.”

It is now expected that Etisalat Nigeria under its new shareholding structure will navigate through its current loan repayment challenge with minimum impact.

Over the last several months, Belo-Osagie worked extensively with critical stakeholders to prepare clearly articulated strategies and robust road maps that will mitigate the impact of the new shareholding restructuring and realignment on the operations and management of the fourth largest telecoms player in Nigeria.

With this development, the new board will assume control of Etisalat.

Jay Z Apologises for Cheat!ng on Beyonce in New Album

In his latest released album, popular American rapper, Jay Z has publicly apologised to his wife for Cheat!ng on her.
Rapper Jay Z and Beyonce

Rapper Jay Z let his music do the talking with his new album "4:44" on Friday as he addressed Cheat!ng on his wife Beyonce, the birth of his twins and this year’s Oscars best picture.

In the title track, Jay Z admitted in his lyrics that he "often womanize", more than a year after R&B star Beyonce first shed light on his infidelities in her album "Lemonade".

Jay Z pens a remorseful ode to his fractured marriage in "4:44", rapping that it "took for my child to be born, see through a woman’s eyes" in reference to the couple’s daughter Blue Ivy.

He also mentioned their twins, who were reported to have been born this month but whose arrival has yet to be officially confirmed, saying it "took for these natural twins to believe in miracles, took me too long for this song, I don’t deserve you".

Jay Z added: "What good is a menage a trois when you have a soul mate? You risked that for Blue? … my heart breaks for the day I had to explain my mistakes."

Fans were left stunned last year when Beyonce made accusations in "Lemonade" that Jay Z had cheated on her, a rare crack in the seemingly perfect facade of one of music’s highest-profile couples.

In her song "Sorry", Beyonce referred to a mystery woman, calling her "Becky with the good hair", which is echoed in Jay Z’s track "Family Feud", a duet with Beyonce in which he raps "Let me alone Becky".

"4:44" was released exclusively on premium music streaming platform Tidal, founded by Jay Z, in partnership with U.S. wireless carrier Sprint Corp, which purchased a 33 percent stake in Tidal this year and made the album available via a six-month Tidal subscription to Sprint mobile customers.

It can also be heard throughout Friday across 160 U.S. radio stations on iHeartRadio, the digital music service for a network of traditional radio stations.

The 35-minute album features Blue Ivy on the track "Legacy", in which the five-year-old asks "Daddy, what’s a will?" as the rapper expresses hope that his children use their wealth to promote "black excellence".

In "Moonlight", Jay Z tackles the impact of the film "La La Land" being named best picture at this year’s Oscars while in "The Story of O.J.", the rapper explores black identity in America.

Mercy Johnson Lived with Her Husband for 2 years Before They Got Married

It has been revealed that popular Nigerian actress, Mercy Johnson live with her husband for 2 years before they eventually got married.
Mercy Johnson and husband Prince Okojie

Mercy Johnson’s husband, Prince Okojie, has revealed that before he married the actress, they lived together under the same roof for about 2 years. Mercy’s husband revealed this in a recent interview with New Telegraph saying that nothing else can break their home.

He said: “Prior to our marriage, I’d known my wife for three years; we actually met in 2008. We started living together in 2009 and we got married in 2011. It’s been God all the way, there’s no miracle or anything much, it’s just been God.

"With marriage break-ups and celebrity dramas, I think it depends on what one wants. For me, when I met my wife, I knew she was the one for me. The love, the affection and the tender care are all present, and although we might have some misunderstanding but when we sleep over it, we move on.

“And as a result of this, we don’t quarrel often. When we do, we learn from it and move to the next level. I have a very big house, my wife has a very big room and so do I, but she has never spent the night in her room for one day.

"Sometimes when I tease her and say ‘go to your room’, she tells me ‘this is our room not your room’ and so most times we are always together.

"I have never experienced anything like this, my marriage to her is so sweet and I’m enjoying it to the fullest. Like I said, I won’t give the kudos to man but to God Almighty who has kept us in happiness, in peace and in harmony.”#mercyjohnson."

Tennis Star Venus Williams Kills 78-year-old Man in Fatal Crash

* Venus Williams Kills Old Man

World’s former top-ranking tennis player, Venus Williams has found herself in serious trouble after killing a 78-year-old man in a fatal road crash.
Tennis star, Venus Williams

Venus Williams, the world’s former top-ranked tennis player, was the driver at fault in a two-car crash in Florida on June 9 that killed a passenger in the other vehicle, according to the initial police report on the incident released on Thursday.

News of the fatal wreck near Williams’ home in Palm Beach Gardens surfaced in media accounts on Thursday, days before the 37-year-old athlete was planning to compete at Wimbledon, which begins in England next week.

An accident report filed by the investigating police officer, given to Reuters by the city clerk’s office, said Williams was to blame for failing to yield the right of way to another motorist at a four-way intersection.

The report said the other driver, Linda Barson, 68, had just entered the intersection on a green light when she reported seeing Williams’ sport utility vehicle "cut across in front" of her and "was unable to avoid crashing into" Williams.

Another motorist who saw the accident also told police Barson had a green light when Williams crossed in front of her.

According to the report, Williams told police she drove into the intersection after exiting from another street on a green light, but stopped at the median break to wait for cross-traffic to clear, then proceeded without seeing Barson.

"The driver of (Williams’ car) is at fault for violating the right of way of", the investigating officer concluded.

Barson’s passenger, identified in the report as Jerome Barson, 78, was taken to a Florida trauma center. He died 13 days later, according to the Palm Beach county medical examiner.

The police report estimated Williams was traveling at about 5 miles per hour (8 kph) at the time of impact and was not distracted or suspected of any drug or alcohol use.

Williams’s attorney, Malcolm Cunningham, did not directly address the accident report’s finding that his client was at fault, but said the tennis star was not issued "any citations or traffic violations."

He expressed condolences to the man’s family and said he had no reason to believe the accident would affect Williams’ plans to play at Wimbledon. There was no indication in the report that she was injured.

"This is an unfortunate accident, and Venus expresses her deepest condolences to the family who lost a loved one," Cunningham said.

An attorney for the Barson family did not return a call seeking comment.

Williams is currently ranked 11th in the world and seeded 10th at the Wimbledon tournament, which she has won five times.

More Drama as Kogi Citizens File Suit to Stop Dino Melaye’s Recall Process

The drama over the Dino Melaye’s recall process initiated Kogi State citizens has taken a new twist as voters file suit to stop the move.

Dino Melaye

A group identified as the Concerned Kogi Registered Voters (CKRV) numbering 18, have filed a suit at a Federal High Court in Abuja, seeking to stop the Independent National Elect0ral Commission (INEC) from commencing verification of signatures collected in order to recall Senator Dino Melaye who is representing Kogi West Senatorial District.

According to Daily Trust, while addressing newsmen on Thursday in Abuja, ‎the convener and secretary of the group, Olowosayo Gabriel Sunday and Amupitan Babayomi Segun claimed that names of dead persons and people who do not reside in the district appeared on the recall register submitted to INEC.

The applicants, who faulted 188,000 signatures which were submitted to INEC, noted that while 111,534 voted in the general election in Kogi West, the total number of registered voters in Kogi West is 360,098.

According to a copy of the motion which was made available to newsmen, INEC which is the first respondent was sued alongside eight other respondents, comprising some aides of the state governor, Yahaya Bello and state lawmakers from the senator’s district.

In their application, the plaintiffs said, “that 2nd to 9th respondents fraudulently opened a recall register and signed signatures for registered voters in Kogi West Senatorial District.

“That some of the names of the registered voters that appeared in re said recall register were dead voters and some voters who were not even residing at Kogi State and they were at different parts of the country when the purported signatures were fraudulently collated by the 2nd and 9th respondents.”

However, the convener of the indigenes, Olowosayo Gabriel Sunday, who is also the first applicant in the suit, said, “That as at the last announcement, INEC itself agreed and announced a figure of PVC collection in Kogi West that is far less than the alleged 188,000.

“That we are aware that there is possible connivance between the people on the recall agenda and INEC because we have evidence of photograph of PVCs in thousands gathered together for the recall, an act contrary to the elect0ral act.”

He added that the move was a desperate attempt to recall Melaye.

Police React to Lawsuit by Billionaire Kidnapper ‘Evans’ Challenging His Detention… Read What They Have to Say

Following the lawsuit filed by billionaire kidnapper, Evans, challenging the right of the police to keep him in detention, the Nigeria Police has reacted.

The Nigeria police authorities, rising from an emergency meeting, have said that they have power to keep the arrested kidnapping kingpin Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, widely known as Evans, in their custody.

According to Daily Trust, a senior police source said that some people who felt that their interest was being threatened were the ones behind the move to get the court to release Evans.

A lawyer had approached a Federal High Court to challenge the continued detention of Evans, stressing that it violated Evans’ fundamental human right.

Sources at the police high command said it was Evans’ gang members yet to be arrested that sought for and got the services of the lawyer to frustrate further investigation into the case.

It was however gathered that the Police expected such a move early enough and had equally secured an order of the Federal High Court to detain Evans for at least three months.

The order, a police source told newsmen, was secured last week Thursday, and it covers the retention of Evans and all his gang members so far arrested for three months.

The source said this was to enable the police conclude all investigations in Nigeria, Ghana and South Africa so that all those involved in the kidnapping ring run by Evans would be brought to book.

Little-Known Habits That Are Secrets To A Happy Relationship

A happy relationship is not a myth, we all can have a happy relationship but we have to make more efforts, especially on little things we think, do not really matter because at the end of it all those little things are what make major differences in keeping your relationship strong and happy.

Contrary to popular belief, a happy relationship is not a myth! I don’t intend to preach like an agony aunt but the beauty of a relationship lies in its small efforts. You don’t need to use pricey gifts and expensive dinner dates as an expression of your feelings; if they are heartfelt, your cute little efforts are enough to show how much you love your partner. The Brunette Diaries lists down the habits that are super essential for a successful relationship.

“The habit of sending cute ‘good morning’ and ‘good night’ messages can never go out of fashion, especially if it’s a long-distance relationship that we’re talking about”.

“Always make sure your relationship is based on friendship as it will give you an edge over the one that is based on respect”.

“Do not sleep over a fight, no matter what the issue is, sort it out before you turn off the lights, even if it means that you need to take the initiative”.

“Don’t hold grudges, finish a fight completely and move ahead with a clean slate; don’t keep any unsaid feelings bottled up inside you”.

“Always find a little time for your partner, even if you’re super busy, you’ll be surprised to know how a 5-minute mushy phone conversation between work hours lights up yours and your partner’s face”.

“Even if cheesy romantic gestures are not your thing, throw in a few compliments and words of encouragement in your conversation once in a while, they go a long way”.

“The importance of spending quality time with your mate cannot be emphasised enough, even something as simple as sharing a meal can go miles in strengthening your bond”.

“Give yourselves a chance to miss each other and come back to some morning romance”.

“There’s no such thing like too many ‘I Love You’s in a relationship!, say it as often as you can”.

“Don’t assume, if you haven’t spoken to your partner about something that upsets you, do it right away and give your partner a chance to put their story forward instead of assuming things”.

Well, there you have it, those little and funny habits may seem funny and weird to you but they are undoubtedly things that will make your relationship happy and fun filled.

Men of the Nigeria Police Force

According to a Punch Metro report, no fewer than 26 residents of Ikorodu, Lagos State, have been killed by Badoo, a notorious ritual cult group.

The deaths were recorded in 15 attacks by the gang between June 5, 2016, and June 27, 2017. No fewer than 14 persons were also injured in the attacks.

Badoo was first heard of on June 5, 2016, when suspected members of the gang struck at Oke Ota community in Ibeshe, raping and killing a 27-year-old Ghanaian, Obinna.

On July 9, the gang returned to Ibeshe, attacked one 60-year-old Francisca and blinded her 10-year-old daughter, Marvellous.

On Saturday, July 23, a Badoo member sneaked into a Celestial Church of Christ building in Itesiwaju community – a suburb of Ibese – while a vigil was ongoing and abducted an eight-year-old girl.

The girl was R@ped to a coma, but a suspected member was caught later that day and set ablaze by a mob.

On October 21, 2016, the gang attacked a family in Oluwoye community, killing a pregnant woman, Afusat Yusuf.

Her husband, Kazeem, and the couple’s two kids –Rodiat and Opeyemi – were injured.

On November 4, 2016, a 62-year-old widow identified only as Mrs. Ogunleye, and her two children, Seun and Funlola, were the targets in the Owode-Ibeshe area. They sustained varying degrees of injury.

On December 26, 2016, the attackers struck on Saka Adegbose Street, killing two siblings, Azeezat Oriade and Abeeb Oriade.

On March 1, 2017, Badoo members attacked a family on Mosafejo Street, Agbowa, Ikorodu, killing three siblings between ages four and nine and their mother.

On April 11, 2017, a family of three was wiped out in Ibeshe Tuntun by the gang.

On May 4, the suspected ritual killers wreaked havoc on a family of six in Adamo, Imota, in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State, killing a couple – Taofiq Agbaje and Simiat Agbaje – and two of their four children, Rodiat and Toyeebat.

On May 30, the gang attacked a family on Olaiya Close, Erunwen, Ikorodu. Again, a couple – Israel Olusanya, Rukayat Olusanya – and their children, Wale Olusanya and six-year-old Semilore Olusanya, were killed. The only survivor was a 15-year-old Senior Secondary School III pupil, Tolu Olusanya.

On June 10, 2017, the hoodlums broke the head of a pastor, Wale Solomon, in Lasunwon town. They killed a couple in Ogijo on June 23, 2017.

In the latest murder by the gang, which occurred on June 28, a family of five – Ike David, 50; Magret David, 28; Ike David (Jnr) 5; Matthew David, 4; and two-year-old Friday David – were all killed in their rented apartment at Olopomeji, Odogunyan.

While the couple and Ike (Jnr) died on the spot, Matthew and Friday gave up the ghost at the Ikorodu General Hospital.

The residents said the police and the state government were clueless on how to stop the attacks.

However, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Olarinde Famous-Cole, said the command had activated operational strategies, adding that some areas suspected to be hideouts of Badoo cult had been identified.

He said, “There are a series of operations going on to ascertain various areas that are prone to attacks in the Ikorodu area. Hideouts and criminal black spots have been identified and moves to hit these criminals are being conducted as we speak.

“Based on the reliable intelligence we got from community leaders, the Oodua People’s Congress and Onyabo, we will tackle these criminals and put a complete stop to their activities.

“Continuous meetings with the relevant stakeholders in the area and in the state generally are being encouraged for credible information. The command urges members of the public to come forward to help in intelligence gathering that can aid security agencies.”

He promised to get back on the number of deaths.

The spokesperson for the Zone 2 Police Command, Onikan, which supervises Ogun and Lagos police commands, SP Dolapo Badmus, said the zone had come up with “operational strategies” to tackle the crime.

“The AIG has directed the (Lagos) command to engage all the stakeholders with a view to putting an end to the killings,” she added.

Asked why the killing persisted despite the Lagos State investment in security, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde, said, “There is no persistence of atrocities in Lagos. We should not take isolated cases to conclude hastily.

“General safety has improved since the investment in security by this government. Considering its huge headcount and daily influx of people and situating this with the successes being recorded, this is still the most secured state in Nigeria.

“The government will continue to invest in security and work with the police to reduce crime and bring criminals to justice.”

Meanwhile, the President of the Association of Industrial Security and Safety Operators of Nigeria, Dr Ona Ekhomu, advised the police to use undercover operatives to gain insights into the activities of the gang.

He urged that active vigilance groups should also be formed in Ikorodu.

Ekhomu equally advised that a hotline should be made available for people who might want to give information about the gang, adding that a bounty could also be placed on the perpetrators.

Ekhomu said, “There will be a lot of evidence and clues left at the crime scenes by the assailants, which the police can pick up to arrest and prosecute the perpetrators. The real reason people don’t engage in criminality is because they are deterred by the law. But unfortunately, we have incapable guidance in Nigeria; strategies are supposed to be put in place to prevent the attacks.”

A former Director of Department of State Services, Mr. Micheal Ejiofor, said there was the need for the residents to be conscious of their surroundings and report suspicious movements to security agencies.

“I agree that the police are to blame partly; however, the community also has a role to play. Residents should organise a neighbourhood watch, liaise with the police and mount barricades so that when they see suspicious movements at night, they will raise the alarm.” he added.

Singapore Man Sleeps With 57 Women In 24 Hours, Sets World Record (See Photos)

A 34-year old man from Singapore has broken a long-standing world record by successfully having intercourse with 57 different women within a 24 hour period. The record was set in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, as part of an annual event run by a local brothel.
The man, who was not named by local Czech media, told reporters that he had been training hard for a period of months and was delighted to have broken the previous record, which stood at 55.

“I’ve always been a bit of a $ex addict, and when I learned that the brothel was having a world record attempt I knew I had to come and give it a go,” he said. “I take it really seriously and train for it just like an athlete would prepare for a marathon. In some ways, it’s actually much harder than a lot of professional sports.”

The world record attempt began at midnight local time, with officials looking on as the man commenced intercourse with his first partner.

“For the world record to count, every woman I slept with had to be different, so the venue had to hire a number of girls from other brothels.”

By midday the man was ahead of world-record pace, having slept with 29 women.

“I started to get a bit of a cramp around then but luckily we had a physiotherapist on hand to give me a massage which helped out,” he told journalists.

As part of the conditions attached to the world record, no challenger is allowed to take any prescription medicine to enhance their erection, and the Singaporean man passed a test to reveal his system was clear of such medication.

“Natural remedies are permitted, but I won’t disclose what supplements I take,” he said.

In addition, for each individual session of intercourse to count, the particiP@nt must ejaculate more than 5ml of semen. The record officials were on hand to dutifully measure the amount of fluid ejaculated by the man at the end of each session.

“It’s not the most sought-after job, but we find it rewarding in our own way,” said one of the judges involved.

The previous record holder, an American P0rn actor, slept with 55 women within a single 24 hour period back in 1983 as a promotional stunt for a new film release. For decades, men around the world have tried – and failed – to break that mark. “I personally never thought the record would be broken,” said one judge. “It’s a true credit to this man’s determination and perseverance.”
Just shortly before 11pm the man broke the record after he completed his 56th session of intercourse, and officials were impressed when he decided to add one more to the tally to finish with 57. Officials believe it will be unlikely for the record to ever be broken, particularly as such a high volume of $ex in a short period of time causes great trauma to the male $ex organ.
