Nigeria Will Burn If Any Igbo Man is Touched – Orji Uzor Kalu Says

Former governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu has vowed to personally lead a war if any Igbo man in the northern part of the country is touched.

His statement comes due to the quit notice issued to Igbos by a coalition of Northern youths recently.

According to the All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain who spoke in an AIT programme, People Politics and Power, those who signed the quit notice are pushovers in the north, adding that Igbos are not afraid of quit notice since they also have somewhere they came from

“Anybody that touches any Igbo man in terms of saying that we should quit; the country will go into war, and I will lead the war if Igbos are touched. I do not believe that in 2017 we should be attacking each other,” he said.

“The quit notice means nothing. No reasonable northern elder will do that. Did Adamu Ciroma sign? Did Babangida sign? Did Abdulsalam sign? Aliko Dangote?

“When you say northern elders, I don’t know whether Sultan of Sokoto, Emir of Kano, Emir of Zazzau and his likes are asking us to quit. If all these people come out and say we should quit, we will quit. We are not afraid of quitting, we have a place to go. But Nigeria’s unity is more important.”

JAMB Begins Sale Of Direct Entry (DE) Application Forms

The organisation has also commenced the sale of UTME application forms for Nigerians abroad and foreign candidates who desire to attend tertiary institutions in the country.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), has commenced the sale of Direct Entry (DE) application forms for qualified candidates who possess A-level results and wish to gain direct admission to degree programmes in Nigerian tertiary institutions.

The organisation has also commenced the sale of UTME application forms for Nigerians abroad and foreign candidates who desire to attend tertiary institutions in the country.

A statement issued on Tuesday by the Spokesperson of JAMB, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, obtained by Journalists in Abuja, said it had not determined the cut off marks for 2017 admissions, neither has it commenced the change of course and institutions.

“JAMB has not determined the cut off marks for 2017. This is only done at a policy committee meeting with all stakeholders chaired by the Honourable Minister of Education which is yet to hold. Candidates should disregard any unauthorised information about cut-off marks for the 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)”, he emphasised.

The JAMB statement reads: “The process is as it was with the UTME where you create a profile and obtain the pins and proceed for biometric capturing at the Computer-Based Test (CBT) Centres for Direct Entry candidates. We urge all candidates wishing to register through Direct Entry to obtain the pins at Interswitch, Remita or any of the commercial banks approved earlier for the vending of UTME pins.

“The Board also wishes to state that it has not commenced the change of course and institutions. We will soon begin and when we do start, the changes will be done in all approved CBT centres nationwide. Candidates need not necessarily come to the JAMB centres for the change. It can be done in any of the CBT centres.

“This is to avoid overcrowding of our offices for services that can be obtained at the utmost comfort by the candidates. The delay has been occasioned by the preparation by JAMB to ensure that the system is smooth and without encumbrances. The public is urged to note that every candidate desirous of a change of course or institution will be allowed to do so as the platform will be open until the close of admission.

“Candidates need not panic or get desperate as it will not be closed as being speculated by those who want to use the opportunity of candidates desperation to defraud them. In view of this, they are not to patronise any fraudulent individuals or organisations but to visit approved CBT centres and never to hesitate in cross checking any information they are not too clear about.

“Again we will continue to advise candidates not to be a victim of fraudsters who claim to have the capacity to inflate candidates scores, they do not have such ability and when caught JAMB will prosecute both the fraudsters and the candidate who patronise them.”

Former OAU VC Remanded in Prison Over N1.4billion Fraud

A former Vice Chancellor of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Anthony Elujoba, has been arrested and remanded in prison after his bail application was denied by the Federal High Court sitting in Ede, Osun State.

The former Vice Chancellor of the institution was remanded in Ilesha prisons after Justice David Oladimeji of the Federal High Court in Ede, Osun State, dismissed his bail application.

The ruling further pronounced that the university don should be held in prison till July 19 when the case will be brought for hearing.

The former Vice Chancellor of the institution was arrested on grounds of alleged corruption and abusive use of office.

The ex-VC along with the bursar of the university, Josephine Akeredolu are both faced with a seven count charge of alleged corruption and abuse of office to the tune of N1.4billion.

However, university staff have noted that Elujoba’s trial is more of a victimization effort and have since declared a two lecture-free-day in solidarity for the university don.

The two lecture-free days declared by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, in solidarity with Mr. Elujoba ended Tuesday.

Landlord Arrested For Killing Tenant In Abia

The landlord of a building located at Plot 22, Obohia Road, Aba, Abia state, Ogbonnaya Igwe, has been arrested by police operatives attached to the Ndiegoro Police Division in the state for allegedly shooting dead his tenant, one Mrs. Ijeoma Chibuzo.

The Abia state Police Public Relations Officer, Geoffrey Ogbonna, who confirmed the arrest of the suspect, said it took the intervention of a combined security team from the Counter-Terrorism Unit and others that were deployed in Obohia to stop angry mob from setting the suspect’s building ablaze.

He said:

“it took the police over three hours to break into the suspect’s house.
“He was apprehended with the gun he allegedly used in killing the victim.

“Although investigation into the matter was still ongoing, preliminary investigation showed that the suspect and the victim were having issues bothering on finance.”

The Police Spokeman in the state added that the victim’s body was deposited in an undisclosed mortuary within the city.

The Victim and the suspect are reportedly said to be indigenes of Item in the Bende Local Government Area of the state.

Ghanaian Father of 100 Children by 12 Wives, Says He’s Willing to Have More Children

As the entire world mark the World Population Day, one man in Ghana has 100 reasons to mark his particular contribution as he makes new revelations on his life.

Tuesday, July 11, was World Population Day, and one man in Ghana, 80-year-old Kofi Asilenu, who is the father of 100 children by 12 wives, has reasons to mark his particular contribution.

Kofi lives with his family in a village called Amankrom, a 45-minute drive from the capital Accra. His family make up a third of the 600 people in the village.

While speaking exclusively to a BBC Africa correspondent, he said that he wanted a big family because he did not have siblings:

“I don’t have any brother or uncle, that’s why I decided to have many children so that they can give me a befitting burial when I die. In my home town if you give birth to one child they will say you are important so I want to have many children.”

His big family has, however, come at a cost. He says that he was well off financially, but his resources have mostly been drained due to the cost of raising such a large brood, even though he says now he gets financial help from his children.

Kofi Asilenu looks physically strong and even says he is willing to have more children – despite having mistakenly proposed to one of his daughters three years ago.

The embarrassing incident meant he was forced to apologise to her, explaining that he had an eye problem so he could not recognise her.

As for his wives, they are all happy with the set up.

First wife Nayome Asilenu told the BBC: “When I married my husband and he decided to marry more women, I didn’t have any option. He’s able to take care of us, pay the children’s school fees. They are healthy and strong so there’s nothing wrong with that.”

Polygamy was preferred in Ghana, to have many children was seen as a symbol of wealth. However, things have changed with women having more control on deciding how many children they can have and also birth control measures have been promoted nationwide.

Police Nab Woman For Selling Her 2 Months Old Baby For N250k To Buy Motorcycle

A 24-year-old mother in Nnewi, Anambra State, Oluchi Emeobi, was paraded for allegedly selling her two-month-old baby and using part of the proceeds to buy a motorcycle.

While parading about 100 suspects at the command headquarters on Tuesday, the state Commissioner of Police, Garba Umar, said that, on July 8, 2017, at about 11am, Oluchi was arrested for allegedly conspiring wth her friend, 26 year old friend, Nchedoch Richard to sell her two-month-old baby to a woman, popularly known as First Lady, now at large.

He said,
“In order to conceal her dastardly act, the suspect reported at the police station that she left her baby with a yet to be ascertained woman who absconded with the baby.”
“The matter is under investigation and efforts are being intensified to arrest First Lady and recover the baby.

The CP said exhibits recovered from Oluchi included N250,000 cash and one motorcycle she allegedly bought with part of the money realised from the sale of the baby.

U.S Based Nigerian Pastor Sentenced To 15 Years In Jail For Ra..ping Two Girls

A Queens based Nigerian pastor was sentenced Tuesday to 15 years in prison for raping two girls in the basement of his church.

Reuben Chizor’s victims were 12- and 14-year-old sisters and members of his Hope Restoration Ministries congregation in Queens Village.

“The defendant took advantage of his position as a man of the cloth and the trust placed in him by his followers to satisfy his depraved desires. Through manipulation and conniving control, he $exually abused his two young victims for nearly two years,” Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said. “What the defendant forced his victims to endure was horrendous — and as punishment he now will be spending a lengthy term behind bars.”

According to NY Daily News, trial testimony last month revealed that on July 27, 2011, Chizor took the 14-year-old victim to the church basement, where he lived, and R@ped her. On Aug. 22, 2011, he R@ped the 12-year-old.

Chizor, 56, continued abusing one or both of the girls through May 2013, Brown said.

In July 2015, the girls confided in each other they’d been R@ped by Chizor, and police were notified.
Efforts to reach Chizor and his attorney were unsuccessful. A message left at the church was not returned.

A 55-year-old South African woman, Mamashi Oageng has lamented over her increasing big B.utt.

Speaking to South African’s Daily Sun, Mamashi cried that she has tried to get help since her B.uttocks started growing non-stop six years ago but all attempt ended in futility
Mamashi said she has been trapped in her bedroom because she had trouble walking.

The People’s Paper first published her story in 2013 but all she got were marriage proposals from men around the world.

She said,

“I don’t want a poking partner. I need someone to save me from my backside before it’s too late.“Life is not easy and sometimes, I feel like giving up.
“I have been to many doctors but they say they can’t help me. I believe I’m cursed!”

Mamashi further explained that her B.utt had grown so big that she can’t walk properly and she spends most of her time lying in bed and waiting for someone to feed and bath her.

Expressing how she feels, Mamashi said,
“My health isn’t good because of my big behind. Four years ago, I could still walk outside and catch a taxi to where I needed to go.”
“Passengers and neighbours call me all sorts of names like Sarah Baartman and I cry myself to sleep.”

Mamashi said she was a beautiful woman with a nice figure six years ago.
“The problem started when I gained weight. Even when I went on a diet, the kilograms still piled up on my bum. I need a doctor who can help me.”

And men only seem to want to have $ex with her, when all she wants is love .

Flood ‘Chases’ Corpses Out Of Mortuary In Lagos (Get In)

The management of a private mortuary, Toluwalase Hospital Morgue, located at Otunba Oladokun Street, in Igando area of Lagos State has ejected corpses deposited in the facility due to massive flooding of its premises. This is coming on the heels of the ceaseless rainfall witnessed across Lagos metropolis last week, which led to flooding.

Flood ‘Chases’ Corpses Out of Mortuary In Lagos

The flood has taken an immense toll on the facility, forcing its operation to stop.

According to the mortuary’s manager, Bolaji Oluwafemi, the area was flood prone and always quick to transform into a lake anytime it rained.

He added that the Lagos State Government had ignored repeated complaints from the hospital management and other residents living in the area.

“TNOW is the lingering need for proper channelization of water and the sand filling of the low land in the area”, Oluwafemi further explained.

Due to the neglect by the government, the morgue manager said they, alongside other residents, hired a contractor to sand fill the lowland and divert the flood water to a nearby drainage, incurring N3 million as expenses for the job.

Oluwafemi, a retired Naval officer, said: “It has paralysed our business, everybody has moved of their houses to live in the available dry land outside of their premises.

“We have been living outside in our cars. Look, (pointing at cooking utensils) that is wNOW we cook our food.

“The woman that sells food has vacated her flooded shop. All the tenants and landlords are out of their houses. On Monday, a woman was searching for her daughter in the flood while others hurried out of their houses.

“We are left with nothing!”

Oluwafemi and other residents seen with him pleaded with the state Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to come to their rescue.

Bobrisky is contemplating moving permanently to the United States and it is all thanks to an upcoming engagement with the new bae he met over tNOW.

Writing on his SnapChat last night, the self-proclaimed Nigerian barbie said his new partner wants him off SnapChat, plus they will be making California their new home.

“I’m getting engaged in America and I will move to California permanently,” he said, adding, “Will miss Nigeria. I pray bae don’t engage me yet.”

This interesting update comes weeks after the SnapChat star revealed he is set to undergo a Brazilian B.utt Lift (BBL), which will be performed in Beverly Hills, California, by the famous plastic surgeon, Dr Tarick K. Smiley. The average cost of a BBL in Beverly Hills is $7000.

Bobrisky left Lagos for Chicago in May, and has since been moving from city to city wNOW he attends events and return to taunt his followers with the photos.

Now, he says he will be moving permanently to the place wNOW he will not be easily judged for his life style, we wonder if he really will be abandoning the Lagos mansion he moved into only months ago.

Just In: House of Reps Summons Former President Jonathan to Appear Before It

A committee of the House of Representatives has invited former President Goodluck Jonathan to testify in the ongoing investigations into the Malabu Oil deal, Punch has reported.

 

The summon was given in order for the former President Goodluck Jonathan to explain his role in the controversial award of OPL 245 oil block licence.

 

The House Committee on Justice is investigating the $1.3 billion Malabu oil deal paid by oil giants, Shell and ENI, for the oil block, one of the richest in Africa. About $1.1 billion of the money was paid directly into a Nigerian government account with JP Morgan while about $200 million had been paid by Shell as signature bonus.

 

Most of the $1.1 billion ended up in private accounts with about $801million directly going into the account of Dan Etete, a former petroleum minister who was convicted for money laundering in France.

 

A large part of that sum is believed to have gone to Mr. Jonathan and officials that served under him including Mohammed Adoke, the then attorney general.

Full Transcript & Video of Dino Melaye’s Public Plea to Senators Begging Them to Stop His Recall Process

The embattled senator representing the Kogi West constituency, Dino Melaye, on Tuesday, urged his colleagues in the Senate to help stop his recall by voters in his constituency.

Below is the full transcript of what Senator Dinmo Melaye told his colleagues at the Senate during the plenary on Tuesday on the recall process by INEC on the request of Kogi West constituents.

Mr. President, my colleagues, the election that brought me to office, the total score of both valid and invalid votes for nine candidates, Mr. President, is 118,000; but my governor and his appointees in four days claimed they got a signature of over 188,000. Nowhere in my constituency did they see to receive people’s signature. They got INEC data base for registered voters and copied in one writing into a report register to forge all the signatures.

 

Mr. President, as I speak to you, I have over 120 dead certificates issued by the National Population Commission and these people’s relations and families have sworn to affidavit and these certificates have been deposited and as I speak to you, the names of all these dead people has been submitted in the recall register sent to INEC.

 

Mr President, a 116 of my colleagues, my constituents I meant to say, also have sworn to affidavit that their names and signatures appeared in the recall register and they were not the ones that signed it.

 

Mr. President, 86 of my constituents have also sworn to affidavit to state that they were approached that the government want to carry out a fertilizer empowerment program and requested for their PVCs and thereby deceived into putting their names on the recall register. All these affidavits sworn to by these people have been submitted to INEC and the court.

 

Mr. President, I am alerting this chamber on a situation that whereby a senator or a legislator will call for collective and enumerative measure in their state. My only sin is that I asked my governor to pay 17 months salary and pension to workers because the holy books says a labourer is worthy of wage. I am not going to belabour us, but they have been spending our money on pages of newspapers, spending money that they want to recall Dino Melaye.

 

The reason for recall is clearly stated is either… (pause) Mr. President it’s either you have been absent or you have underperformed or you are a sleeping senator, so for that reason you may initiate a recall. But this recall is not initiated by my constituents, it is by my state government and I want to bring the attention of my colleagues that this orchestration and injustice and lies of malicious manifestation of my governor should not be entertained in any democratic setting.

 

I want to call on this Senate that this should not be allowed anywhere and not because it is Dino Melaye, it can be any member of the House of Assembly tomorrow and House of Representative. It can be any senator where his governor will just come up and cook names, signatures, including those of dead bodies and initiate a recall process because he has our common patrimonial resources within his disposal.

Federal Government Issues Two Weeks Ultimatum to Akwa Ibom on N-Power Volunteers

The Akwa Ibom government have been issued a two-week ultimatum by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government on Tuesday over the deployment of N-Power volunteers in the state.

The Federal Government has issued a two-week ultimatum to the Akwa Ibom government to fully deploy N-Power volunteers or lose its slots to other states.

 

Mr. Afolabi Imoukhuede, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Job Creation and Youth Employment, issued the warning at the state institutional stakeholders meeting in Uyo.

 

After visiting some schools where the volunteers were supposedly deployed, the Monitoring and Evaluation (M and E) team, led by Imoukhuede expressed displeasure with the execution of the scheme in the state.

 

Accordingly, Imoukhuede requested for the schedule of posting for the volunteers immediately as the Federal Government would no longer continue to pay volunteers, who had yet to be deployed seven months after being paid.

“We need to get a full deployment report in two weeks or the stipends of the volunteers will be put on hold,” he directed.

 

The SSA said another assessment team would visit the state at the end of the ultimatum to ensure that the right thing was done.

 

He also said that the relevant ministries – Agriculture, Education and Health – should ensure full monitoring of the scheme.

 

“I must express my gross dissatisfaction with what is happening in this state; this is horrible; it is in shambles.

“It was decided that any state which failed to send its deployment schedule to the N-Power office before the end of March will not be paid.

“If that was done, this will not have happened,’’ he said.

 

Imoukhuede said that if the state had informed the headquarters that it did not need the volunteers other states could have taken the slots.

 

He said it was unfair to the Federal Government for N-Teach volunteers to be deployed on July 3 when they had been collecting stipends since January.

 

The Permanent Secretary, Akwa Ibom Ministry of Economic Development, Labour and Manpower Planning, Mr Effiong Peters, explained that the state experienced challenges because the job scheme was new to it.

 

Peters, who represented the Commissioner, Mr Idorenyin Udo, however, pleaded for more time to effect the corrections and gave assurance that the state would improve on its execution of the scheme.

“We have a large number of youth unemployment and we will make judicious use of this opportunity to calm the youths,’’ he said.

 

Peters also said that rather than blacklisting the state, the Federal Government should post more volunteers as it had capacity to absorb no fewer than 10,000 of them.

 

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that while the N-Teach had more challenges, N-Agro and N-Health recorded a leap in implementation.

 

The team visited QIC Group of Schools, Awa Iman, Onna local government and Kema Integrated Farms in the area where the proprietor, Mrs Mkpouto Okpudo, had introduced 2 volunteers to new medicinal crops from China.

 

The team also monitored progress at the Primary Health Centre, Abat and Credo Farm in Abak where volunteers documented the outbreak of Stem Bora attack on Maize leaves for the attention of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture.
