Arsenal Team News: Injuries, suspensions and line-up vs Crystal Palace

Arsenal will look to start 2017 with a bang by beating Sam Allardyce's Crystal Palace side on New Year's Day.
The Gunners scraped past West Brom in their previous Premier League encounter at Emirates Stadium on December 26 and will be hoping to put on a more convincing performance against a side managed by the former England boss.

Two consecutive defeats in the Premier League to Everton and Manchester City had sent warning signals to Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, who has admitted that Chelsea are "super favourites" to win the league title.

Chelsea are nine points ahead of Arsenal and that gap could increase to 12 by Sunday if they defeat Stoke to claim their 13th consecutive win in the competition.

ARSENAL INJURIES

Shkodran Mustafi returns to the Arsenal squad after a hamstring injury. The Germany international has yet to lose a game for Arsenal and in the Premier League he's won nine of the 12 matches he's started in.

Danny Welbeck looks set to be selected among the substitutes following his successful rehabilitation from a long-term knee injury, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will take part in the final Saturday training session before the weekend's game to assess his fitness.
Injury prone left-back Kieran Gibbs - who has been linked with a transfer to Selhurst Park in the British media - is out with a minor knee injury but could be back for the FA Cup tie with Preston next week.

Santi Cazorla and
Mathieu Debuchy are both still on the sidelines with long-term injuries.
